About
The University of Alabama at Birmingham autopsy service functions as a Regional Autopsy Center serving the university, several community hospitals, state agencies, and selected private cases, performing roughly 300 to 350 autopsies per year from perinatal to adult. Complete and limited autopsies include microscopic organ examination, and the service works with the UAB Neuropathology Department for postmortem diagnostic neuropathology.
