The Brain Endowment Bank accepts brain donors from newborn through age one hundred and older, with no fee associated with donation at any time. Because donation must take place within 24 hours of death, the bank asks families, mortuary or medical staff, or friends to alert its trained specialists by phone at any hour. Family members receive a neuropathology report within 12 months.
